These two sites give personal narratives from patients with particular conditions and address many of the issues that a patient with a particular condition may have. The stories are compelling and interesting.

This site provides an excellent introduction into the work of anaesthetists within the NHS.  An outline of the different types of anaesthetics, the complications involved and what happens to a patient after surgery.
