A Royal Occasion
The Safe Anaesthesia Liaison Group is delighted to announce that HRH The Princess Royal, the Patron of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, will be attending our annual Patient Safety Conference in Edinburgh in November.
Dr Liam Brennan, President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, said: “We are honoured that our Royal Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, will be joining us to hear more about the important patient-focused work the RCoA and its safety partners within the Safe Anaesthesia Liaison Group undertake. As we are meeting in Edinburgh, we are also pleased to welcome Dr Catherine Calderwood, Chief Medical Officer for Scotland who will be speaking about 'Realistic Medicine' which describes how Scotland plans to meet the challenges for healthcare."
To be held at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 30 November 2016, the single-day meeting will consist of lectures followed by discussion and networking opportunities. Experts will present up-to-date information on a range of patient safety related topics including preventing adverse events and the impacts of overprescribing, to name a few. Shona Robison, MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport will also address the conference, providing Scotland’s perspective on their activities to further enhance patient safety.
Please note that, due to security requirements relating to The Princess Royal’s attendance, registrations will be accepted until 29 November. We will be unable to accept delegate registrations on the day of the conference.
Please see the Patient Safety Conference event page for the full programme and booking information.
