The Facts about A&E

The RCoA recognises the important work undertaken by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) in highlighting significant factors relating to emergency departments in England.

Produced ahead of the winter of 2015/2016, the RCEM has produced a fact sheet summarising information relating to the number of attendances at A&E departments, the current state of staffing in A&Es, and the role of the four-hour target in diminishing the risk of harm and mortality.
