Council met yesterday for the first time since the EGM and we would like to briefly update members on the work undertaken and some of our discussions so far.

SAS Week is a week-long celebration of Staff Grade, Associate Specialist and Specialty (SAS) doctors which runs from 9-13 October. More than 1 in 5 of the non-trainee anaesthetic workforce are SAS doctors who play an essential role in the provision of anaesthetic services to patients.  
October is Black History Month and we welcome it as an opportunity to celebrate the contribution of black anaesthetists to the specialty and the NHS. This year’s theme is ‘Saluting Our Sisters’, in recognition of the fact that the many achievements of black women are too often overlooked.
