ACCS Trainee Day - 12th February 2018

The RCoA is pleased to be hosting the ACCS Trainee Day again in 2018.
 
This is a great networking opportunity for ACCS trainees to meet other doctors from around the country and receive specific training and career guidance. Workshops and talks will include ARCP and career advice and a presentation from one of the lead responders at the Manchester terrorist incident earlier this year.
 
The event will be at the Royal College of Anaesthetists, Churchill House, 35 Red Lion Square, London, WC1R 4SG on 12 February 2018 from 9:00 – 17:00. Registration will be open in early January 2018, and will be posted on the ACCS website Events page.

Intensive Care Society's Career Day

A one day event on Thursday 12th October at Churchill House in London to inspire and inform trainees considering a career in intensive care medicine.  Topics will include why ICM is the best job in the world ever, maintaining balance as an ICM doctor, and sub-specialties within ICM.
 
The day is £25 for members of the Intensive Care Society.
 

Upcoming Critical Care Medicine Section meetings at the Royal Society of Medicine

The council produce a Trainee´s series of meetings built around FICM, AIM, CMT and Anaesthetics curriculum competencies. Each meeting takes place on a weekday evening from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. The meetings have been designed to support trainees in their work and development. The upcoming meetings can be found here.


UK Training in Emergency Airway Management (TEAM) Course

A two day simulator-based course designed to teach the knowledge, skills and attitudes requried to safely manage the airway and post-intubation period in an emergency situation outside the operating theatre, such as rapid sequence induction in the ED resuscitation room. The course is taught by an experienced faculty using small groups and high fiedelity patient simulators, who facilitiate delegates to build their competence through realistic scenarios.
