Overview

This one-day meeting, run jointly by the RCoA and AAGBI, will be of interest to those doing or supporting Less Than Full Time (LTFT) Training including trainers, trainees, educational supervisors, College tutors, training programme directors and regional advisers anaesthesia.

Through talks, discussion and posters we will cover current topics, challenges and opportunities for those in LTFT training and for those who deliver it. The aim is to share knowledge and examples of good practice in LTFT training in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine.

Learning objectives

To understand what LTFT training involves for the trainee and their supervisors, and how to get the most out of it.

To appreciate the current challenges for those involved in LTFT working and training in anaesthesia and intensive care including:

  • Fatigue and wellbeing
  • Working LTFT for different reasons
  • How the new junior doctors’ contract will affect LTFT training

Share good practice and information for trainees and trainers.

An opportunity for networking and open discussion of issues to foster development of a supportive community of doctors working and training LTFT.
