Overview
In the rapidly evolving world of managing major trauma, accelerated by the advent of major trauma networks in England, it can be hard to keep up to date with the latest concepts and evidence. This meeting consists of lectures, delivered by experts who are heavily involved in the care of major trauma patients. The day aims to provide something for everyone, whether you are a trauma expert or just wanting to get yourself up to speed on modern trauma care. It is intended for doctors engaged in the reception, resuscitation and definitive care of major trauma patients, and includes the pre-hospital arena.

Lectures on the day include:
  • The TRAUMATIC acronym in major trauma care
  • Simulation Training for Major Trauma
  • A new national model of pre-hospital and retrieval - the emergency medical retrieval and transfer service (EMRTS) Cymru
  • Where does Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine fit into trauma care?
  • Interventional Radiology for the Major Trauma patient
  • Pre-hospital Emergency Anaesthesia, “How to make a Checklist (Work)”
  • Paediatric Major Trauma
  • Major Trauma Nationally – where are we going?
