TRIPOM 2022 will showcase expert speakers in perioperative medicine as well as senior clinicians and healthcare professionals presenting local projects that are trailblazing perioperative care nationally.

TRIPOM 2022 also allows trainees and allied health professionals the opportunity to present their own work on the national stage either in the form of an oral presentation or poster.

TRIPOM 2022 is the platform to launch TRIPOM’s first educational infographic, with TRIPOM members submitting their designs to be the designer/author of the first TRIPOM infographic, spearheading our educational content for the future.

Other highlights of TRIPOM 2022 will be:

  • A live CPET with interactive discussion and teaching
  • An interactive, intra-operative fluid management simulation
  • Well being sessions
  • A free two course menu, with complimentary drinks and snacks.

Ramani Moonesinghe

Professor of Perioperative Medicine, working clinically at University College London Hospitals and National Clinical Director for Critical and Perioperative Care at NHS England.

David Shipway

Consultant physician with North Bristol NHS Trust with a specialist interest in Perioperative medicine in the frail and multimorbid and recent author in The Lancet investigating geriatric assessment on clinical outcomes.

Alex Wickham

Consultant anaesthetist with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust with a special interest in perioperative medicine, intra-operative haemodynamics and fluid therapy.

Jignesh Patel

Consultant anaesthetist who spearheaded the creation of an enhanced Perioperative Care Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

Presentation Submission

Both deadlines: Friday 2nd September

TRIPOM members who submit work can book onto this event free of charge in either format.

  1. Innovative project competition:

There is the chance to present your own work at a national conference as either a shortlisted oral presentation or poster.

Please submit an abstract to the rules stated below:

Not more than 500 words and single line spacing in a Word document.

  • Title: Short and specific.
  • Introduction: Stating the hypothesis or objective of the study.
  • Methods: Measurements, Design and patients.
  • Results: A summary with appropriate data.
  • Conclusion: A succinct summary.
  • Reference(s): Author, Journal, Volume, Page, and year.

Inclusion of up to 1 table and 1 figure is permitted.

Any work is acceptable which has not been published in a Peer Reviewed Journal by the abstract submission deadline date. This includes audits, best practice, case reports etc.

You will be notified after the submission date if you are to present as a poster (in A0) or oral presentation (PowerPoint, maximum of 20 slides).

  1. Infographic competition

You have the opportunity to produce the first TRIPOM educational infographic!

Design by computer or by hand an infographic of a TRIPOM Nutshell article (see website) or a perioperative topic of you choosing (based on a current, up to date article/publication).

Please submit as a PowerPoint slide (16:9) or a high quality photo of a hand drawn design on A3 white paper and reference appropriately.
