Final FRCA Written Information

Online application and payment for examinations
We are now able to accept online bookings for FRCA exams; to do so, simply click here, register, and follow the instructions. 

The dates and application windows of the Final Written exams are set out in the calendars below.  Applications received after 5pm on the listed closing date will not be accepted. The on-line process will cease accepting applications at 5pm on the closing date. Early application avoids the worry of meeting the closing date.

Examination Fees:  Applicants can pay via PayPal on completion of the online application process.  Paper applications are to be to be paid by cheque drawn on a UK clearing bank, sterling draft or postal order. Cheques should be made payable to: 'The Royal College of Anaesthetists'.

Completing your form:

  • Complete all sections, then check through again
  • Sign and date the form
  • Remember you are signing the form to the effect that your College Tutor or Senior Consultant supports your application for this exam.
  • Enclose any competency certificates required
  • E-mail your application and any supporting documents to exams@rcoa.ac.uk
  • We will contact you to confirm you are booked on to the exam and shortly after this you will receive an e-mail from our finance department regarding payment

The Examinations directorate will send you an email to confirm receipt of your form.  If you have not received one within seven days of despatch or less, if the closing date is near, then you are advised to contact the exams team. The College cannot be held responsible for non-delivery or delays in the postal system.

Requests for special consideration of a disability must be made on application.  The standard rules and provisions for Dyslexia are set out at Appendix 3 of the Examination Regulations.
