Appointed to Nottingham University Hospitals, Adult Critical Care Head of Service role in 2007 to provide strong visible leadership and direction during a difficult two hospital merger.

During this time delivered unification of ways of working, guidelines and protocols, equipment and full staff integration and rotation across the various areas. Successful completion of a number of major capital projects including a £5.5m full refurbishment for one unit and a £25m expansion outline business case for the other. Overseen an 80% increase in critical care beds during this time and doubling of consultant workforce. Recent sumission of £70m SoC for new development. Major role in development, approval and delivery of NUH as the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre.

Subsequently appointed as NUH Clinical Director of Diagnostic and Clinical Support and Deputy National Lead Clinical Director's Executive Committee and co-opted to College Council with representation on a number of local, regional and national committee's. Member of RCoA ART review group and ACSA accreditation team. Appointed as Lead Clinical Director December 2014.

Appointed to additional role as Clinical Director for Specialisi Support in April 2014, now with responsiblity for all Trust support services, 1/3 of Trust workforce and budget.

Previously was Mid and South Trent ICM Regional Advisor for a period of 8 years.
