College membership extended to medical students and foundation year doctors

As part of the five year strategy of supporting anaesthetists throughout their career, the College is pleased to announce the launch of a new membership service for medical students and foundation year doctors.

The new membership service was announced at the launch of the Undergraduate Framework on 13 November at the College.

The membership offers support for those interested in learning more about anaesthesia as a specialty, and who will hopefully be encouraged to pursue a career in anaesthesia, pain medicine and intensive care.

As part of the membership benefits and resources on offer, students and foundation year doctors will enjoy many benefits including:

  • access to our popular “Career in Anaesthesia” events
  • 75% discount on selected RCoA events and courses (limited number of tickets)
  • College e-publications, including links to the bimonthly membership magazine Bulletin, and the President’s monthly e-newsletter
  • a copy of the newly published “Your Career in Anaesthesia”
  • RCoA sponsorship opportunities for medical fairs and events
  • webcast access
  • networking opportunities
  • information about the training programme
  • access to information and materials on how to embark on a career in anaesthesia, including FAQs, application top tips and career insights from various sub-specialties
  • dedicated area of the RCoA website

The cost of membership is set to be affordable to all, at just £10 per annum for students and £3 a month for foundation year doctors.
