New BJA Education Editor in Chief announced

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Jonathan Thompson as Editor in Chief of BJA Education to succeed Jeremy Langton from October 2017.

Professor Thompson is Honorary Professor and Consultant in Anaesthesia and Critical Care at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and was a founding Editorial Board member of CEACCP from 2000-2010.  He has been Editor of the BJA since 2008 and has authored two textbooks, more than 25 book chapters and 30 other educational articles.

Professor Thompson said: "I am thrilled and honoured to be taking on the role of Editor in Chief of BJA Education.  The journal has grown remarkably in a short period of time under the guidance of its past and current editorial teams and partner organisations. BJA Education now receives more than 240,000 downloads per month and is appreciated widely by its readership. I am looking forward to working with the other editors and relish the opportunity to deliver such a high-quality CPD product to RCoA fellows, members, subscribers and readers in the UK and worldwide."
