RCoA welcomes new guidance on reflective practice

In response to the publication of The Reflective Practitioner guidance and toolkit, jointly developed by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, the UK Conference of Postgraduate Medical Deans, the General Medical Council, and the Medical Schools Council, Dr Liam Brennan, President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists said:

“I welcome the publication of this new guidance to help medical students and doctors at all stages of their careers to reflect on and learn from their practice.

“Reflecting on clinical practice is not only important for individual wellbeing and professional development, but it is also valuable in helping improve the quality of  care we provide for our patients.

“Whether you have just started undergraduate training or are in the later stages of your career, reflective learning is a cornerstone of good medical practice which we should all engage in.”
