eg, etc and ie
No full stops.

Email
One word, not hyphenated.

Enquiry
Use 'enquiry' for an informal situation and 'inquiry' for a formal investigation eg the Bristol Royal Infirmary inquiry.

Enthusiasm and hyperbole
Be honest and realistic. Rather than describing something as ‘life-changing’, ‘wonderful’ or ‘terrible’, try to explain why something is good or bad.

Et al
Italics, no full stop.

Should only be used in formal academic writing when referring to authors of the paper and when there is more than three.  E.g. Smith, Johnson and Elliot, but instead of Smith, Johnson, Elliot and Wordsworth, it should be Smith et al.

Excel spreadsheet
Upper case - Excel is a brand name.
