Decide to participate

Departments must make a collective decision to participate in the ACSA scheme. Involving as many people as possible from the start will make it easier to identify issues and spread the workload. Wider input and a whole-team approach is the key to implementing sustainable improvements and management support is essential.

If you would like to find out more about ACSA before to help inform this decision, there are several ways to go about this:

  • Read through the ACSA Handbook to get an overview of what is involved
  • Contact a nearby accredited department for advice and support
  • We can hold a short MSTeams meeting – this will give you the opportunity to discuss any queries you have about the ACSA process or specific standards you may need clarification on
  • We can visit deliver a presentation to your wider department. A clinical representative and senior member of the ACSA team will give a short presentation, allowing time for questions.
