Safe Anaesthesia Liaison Group

The Safe Anaesthesia Liaison Group (SALG) is a collaborative project between the Association of Anaesthetists, the Royal College of Anaesthetists and NHS England and NHS Improvement.

The group was formed in 2008 with the specific aim of reviewing and analysing anaesthesia specific incidents reported to NHS England and other UK national healthcare safety bodies. Important learning points from incidents reported to the National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) are reported back to the anaesthesia community through the Patient Safety Update along with email circulations via the safety network.

The safety network is open to join for individuals within the NHS and independent sector who have an interest in patient safety. To join the network please email admin@salg.ac.uk
