Biography
Dr G Baranidharan has been an Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine Consultant at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, United Kingdom, since 2006. He is the clinical lead for Pain Medicine. He holds an appointment as an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Leeds.
Dr Baranidharan completed his MBBS from Madras Medical College (1996), Madras, India. He pursued his anaesthesia and Pain Medicine training at Yorkshire Deanery, UK and McMaster University, Canada (1999-2006). He has a Fellowship in Anaesthesia (FRCA) and Pain Medicine (FFPMRCA) from the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Pain Medicine.
Dr Baranidharan developed the Neuromodulation Centre in Leeds from a small service to one of the most significant units in Europe. He is active in research (Neuropathic pain and Neuromodulation) and teaching. He has significantly contributed to developing a National Neuromodulation Registry for the United Kingdom and currently chairs the Dataset Committee.
Dr Baranidharan is the Elected Dean of the Faculty of Pain Medicine (Sep 2025) and an examiner for FFPMRCA. He has successfully run his annual cadaver workshop in Leeds since 2008.
Dr Baranidharan enjoys running, cricket and golf. He has two boys named Kavin and Iniyan.
