The ceremony is one of the highlights in the College’s calendar and a real celebration for all involved.

This ceremony is for candidates who have passed the Final FRCA exam from June 2023 to May 2024. Candidates sitting the June 2024 exam will be invited to the ceremony in September 2025. 

We will be holding two diplomate ceremonies on 6 September 2024. 
One in the morning and one in the afternoon, diplomates will be notified on which ceremony they are invited to attend when the invitations are sent.

Each diplomate will be able to bring two guests to the ceremony, depending on the numbers per ceremony we may be able to open this up further.

Ceremony 1:

  • Registration, collect gowns and photography: 9.30-11.00
  • Ceremony running time:  11.00 – 12.30
  • Diplomates to return gowns: 12.30 – 13.00

Ceremony 2:

  • Registration and collect gowns:13.30 – 15.00
  • Ceremony  running time: 15.00 – 16.30
  • Diplomates to return gowns: 16.30 – 17.00

Unfortunately, due to the capacity at the venue, we are not able to offer a swap between the morning and afternoon ceremonies. If you no longer wish to attend, please let us know by emailing events@rcoa.ac.uk. We will  defer your attendance to a future ceremony. Please be aware that Diplomates who graduate between July 2024 and April 2025 will receive priority at the 2025 ceremony. 

If you are graduating from 2 Schools we will graduate you from them both in the same ceremony. We will be in touch to confirm which ceremony works best for you. 

Other FAQs

Yes, children are welcome. All children attending will be required to have a guest ticket as part of the two ticket per diplomate allocation. The only exception to this is children under One who are allowed to attend outside of the ticket allocation.

If you no longer wish to attend, please let us know by emailing events@rcoa.ac.uk. We will  defer your attendance to a future ceremony. Please be aware that Diplomates who graduate between July 2024 and April 2025 will receive priority at the 2025 ceremony. 

Yes, we do request that gowns are booked in advance through our supplier Ede and Ravenscroft. Please visit their website if you haven’t done so already: https://graduation-services.edeandravenscroft.com/academic.

If you forget, they do bring spares on the day, however they will not be able to guarantee your correct sizing. 

Gowns and Mortar boards are mandatory. 

Deadline to order gowns is Friday 13 August 2024.

No, we ask that diplomates and guests keep their items with them at all times.
Please bring minimal items with you. 

We will be providing bottled water during the ceremony; however, we will not be providing any additional catering provisions. The cafe in the basement of Central Hall will be open for you to purchase food and drink if you wish.

Yes, we will have a designated room for parents to breast feed.

No, Diplomates are seated on the ground floor of the hall and guests will be seated in the Balcony. We keep a number of seats reserved on the ground floor for guests with accessibility needs and those with babies.

Diplomates can choose to sit with their baby on the ground floor but must keep an eye on when their School is being called on stage. Please note that seating on the ground floor will be prioritised for guests with accessibility needs, however, we will try to accommodate all requests made to events@rcoa.ac.uk.

 

The ceremony will be streamed live via the RCoA website. The link to the stream will be sent to all Diplomates nearer the ceremony as well as being posted here.
