Clinical Quality Advisor

We are recruiting a Clinical Quality Advisor to advise and support our clinical quality workstreams, including representing the College in its work with stakeholders across different disciplines. 

The Clinical Quality Advisor is central to the successful running of the Clinical Quality team and will be supported by a number of dedicated and experienced College staff.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a commitment to setting the highest standards for anaesthesia and patient care, and to working with anaesthetists to improve the service they provide. Recent experience in other College roles is also desirable.

Responsibilities include

  • Responding to clinical enquiries received from members, healthcare professionals, patients and the public.
  • Providing clinical support to workstreams such as our response to regulation 28: prevention of future death reports. 
  • Escalating patient safety and quality of care issues, as identified through membership of College Council, Clinical Quality and Research Board and other College committees.
  • Representing the College in its work with multidisciplinary stakeholders and providing day-to-day support to our Invited Review programme.

About this opportunity 

The position is a fixed term post of three years, renewable annually subject to performance, from July 2023. The post is supported by a fixed supplement, payable to the postholder’s employing trust or board to enable the successful candidate to dedicate a minimum of 8 hours per week to the role.  Specific hours and days of working are flexible and should reflect the ongoing needs of the post.
