Primary FRCA OSCE

The Primary OSCE assesses a candidate's competence in one or more areas of clinical competence such as history taking, communication, physical examination skills across 16 exam stations laid out in a circuit. Candidates complete the examination by moving from station to station.

Royal College of Anaesthetists moves to a neutral position on assisted dying/assisted suicide

Following consideration of a member survey on assisted dying/assisted suicide, Council has taken the decision to change the College’s position on assisted dying/assisted suicide from ‘no stance’ to ‘neutral’, on the basis that a neutral position more closely aligns with the views of a majority of respondents.

CPD Assessor

The College welcomes applications from doctors interested in acting as a CPD Assessor. Full support is provided by the College CPD Team and the Team also sends each CPD Assessor an annual report detailing the event reviews they have completed, for use in their own CPD portfolios.
