Anaesthetic training update

Following recent developments due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are in the process of developing guidance on the reallocation of anaesthetists in training. In particular, in relation to time spent supporting critical care services, and for those anaesthetists in training who are shielding or have been identified as belonging to a clinically vulnerable group. We aim to publish this within the next week.

We are acutely aware that this is an uncertain time, and an extremely busy one for all of you. Please be assured that we are also monitoring all other areas that may impact on training and progression, including national recruitment and examinations.
