President, Council & Lay Trustees
The role of the Council is to provide clinical leadership to the specialty, setting standards for education, learning and examinations and ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice.
Members of Council are elected and co-opted from all groups, from Anaesthetists in Training to Consultants and SAS Doctors, as well as regional Boards and specific stakeholder groups. It’s the role of the Council members to make sure the College represents the needs of members and the profession.
The role of the Board of Trustees is to manage the College and ensure it is compliant with rules set out by our regulator the Charity Commission.
